Wednesday nights URGE (2nd Ave. and 2nd St.) hosts Ass Wednesday, a contest in which fags from all walks of life (from vacationing Midwesterners to jaded LES queens) try to prove who has the best buttocks by mooning the audience.
Oversized drag queen (and Long Island native) Gusty Winds hosts the always laid-back evening with funny anecdotes about her Hell's Kitchen existence. On a recent Wednesday, the recently laid off queen recounted her first brush with the escorting world (on the receiving end). The photo above shows Winds smacking last Wednesday's winner of the Ass contest (the winner gets $100 cash and a one-week membership at Crunch -- the crappy gym no one goes to).
URGE offers a tantalizing, straight-acting, mostly Latin assortment of go go boys, the one pictured above is from Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic, or something hot like that. The atmosphere is no-attitude and getting a drink is not the desperate, please-look-at-me, endeavor (akin to hailing a Cab at 10pm at Times Square) that it is at, say, Gym Bar.
